Eligibility and legal drinking age.

Alcohol-related content is intended only for people who have reached the legal drinking age where they are located. U.S. visitors must be 21 or older. Visitors elsewhere must meet their local legal drinking age. The site's age prompt records a visitor's self-confirmation; it is not identity or age verification.

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. Do not purchase, provide, or serve alcohol in violation of law.

The service.

CocktailSteps provides authored recipes, visual preparation steps, a bottle guide, ingredient matching, optional shelf-image recognition, and an AI Coach. CocktailSteps does not sell, deliver, or arrange the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Features may change, become unavailable, or contain errors. Bottle prices and availability are approximate references that vary by seller, location, and date; they are not offers, guarantees, or endorsements.

CocktailSteps may display clearly labeled third-party advertisements on a limited set of eligible pages. Advertisements may be unavailable, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a visitor's circumstances and do not constitute our endorsement of an advertiser, product, or destination.

Accounts.

Some AI features require an account through email/password or Google sign-in. You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

We may apply usage limits and may suspend or terminate access to protect the service, comply with law, or address a violation of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account-data deletion by emailing [email protected].

User inputs and AI features.

You retain rights you have in photos, questions, and other material you submit. You grant LUQ Labs a limited permission to transmit and process that material only as needed to provide, secure, and support the requested feature.

Do not upload images containing people, identity documents, addresses, confidential information, or content you do not have permission to use. Do not use the service to violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights.

AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. Confirm shelf-recognition results before using them. The AI Coach is limited assistance and does not replace an authored recipe, professional advice, medical advice, or your judgment. Our Privacy Policy explains how AI requests are processed.

Acceptable use.

You may not:

• Use the service for an unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, authentication, or security controls.
• Interfere with the service or introduce malicious code.
• Scrape or access the service through unauthorized automated means.
• Misrepresent AI output as guaranteed, professional, or human advice.
• Infringe another person's rights or misuse their information.

Intellectual property.

CocktailSteps' original text, design, images, videos, software, and content arrangement are owned by LUQ Labs or its licensors and protected by applicable law. These Terms do not claim ownership of recipe facts or third-party trademarks. Product and company names belong to their respective owners.

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or create a competing service from protected material except where law permits or we give written permission.

Third-party services and links.

The service relies on or links to third parties, including Vercel, Supabase, Google services including AdSense and Privacy & Messaging, OpenAI, Cloudflare, advertisers, and external websites. Their terms and policies govern their services. Advertisers control their creatives and destination sites. We are not responsible for third-party sites or for conduct outside our control. Disclaimers.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COCKTAILSTEPS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” LUQ LABS DISCLAIMS EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND SECURITY.

We do not guarantee that recipes, prices, visual demonstrations, shelf recognition, AI output, or other information will be error-free or fit every person, product, jurisdiction, or circumstance. Nothing on the site is medical, legal, or professional advice.

Limitation of liability.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUQ LABS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR US$50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS, SO THESE TERMS APPLY ONLY TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.

Governing law and courts.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Proceedings must be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable consumer or other law requires otherwise.

Changes and general terms.

We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate for a material change. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the service.
