CocktailSteps keeps AI at the edge of uncertainty—recognizing a shelf and answering a substitution—while the recipe underneath stays authored, measured, and dependable.

Take one photo. You confirm what the model sees before any recommendation is made.

02

Pick what fits tonight.

Recipes are ranked from a fixed, tested collection by what you have—not by model improvisation.

03

Make every motion count.

Pour, shake, stir, muddle, and garnish on screen while you repeat the technique at the bar.

Six ways into the collection

Start with a technique.

Stir, shake, muddle, foam, or build without alcohol. Each pour opens an exact recipe and the visual sequence that goes with it.

The house standard

One recipe, checked as one complete pour.

Before publication, the CocktailSteps Editorial Team checks each recipe's measurements, ingredient and tool references, step order, Quick Check, and visual sequence against one another. If those pieces disagree, the recipe is corrected before it is marked ready.

Review is published under CocktailSteps rather than an individual name. We do not claim unnamed bartender credentials or treat AI output as personal experience. Brands, citrus, ice, equipment, and temperature can still change the result.

Before you measure.

Practical answers about measurements, technique, substitutions, AI assistance, and responsible serving.

Which measurements do the recipes use?

Liquid ingredients are written primarily in US fluid ounces, with teaspoons, dashes, pieces, and other practical units where they make more sense. Each recipe starts at one serving and can scale to two, three, or four servings; the technique and timing remain unchanged.

Can I substitute an ingredient?

Some ingredients include reviewed alternatives, and the AI Coach can explain a possible swap. A substitute can change sweetness, acidity, strength, texture, or aroma, so compare the suggestion with the measured recipe and taste cautiously before serving.

Why are some drinks shaken and others stirred?

Follow the method written for the drink. Shaking chills quickly and adds aeration, which suits many recipes with citrus, coffee, cream, or egg white. Stirring chills and dilutes with less air, preserving the clear, silky texture of many spirit-forward drinks.

How accurate are the shelf scanner and AI Coach?

They are assistants, not the source of truth. Shelf recognition can miss or misidentify a bottle, so you confirm every result. The Coach can also be incomplete or wrong; it never changes the published recipe, and the measured ingredients and ordered steps should win when advice conflicts.

Does CocktailSteps include alcohol-free drinks?

Yes. Zero-proof recipes are marked clearly and remain available without age confirmation. Alcoholic recipes are for adults of legal drinking age, and their strength estimates are preparation information rather than consumption targets.

How does CocktailSteps verify a recipe?

The CocktailSteps Editorial Team checks the ingredient names and quantities, step order, Quick Check, and matching visual sequence as one complete recipe before publication. Mismatches are corrected before a recipe is marked ready. Results can still vary with brands, citrus, ice, equipment, and temperature.

Hands busy? Good.

The glass remembers where you are.

Every finished action changes the drink on screen. If you reduce motion or use a keyboard, the full path stays intact.
